My name is Duane, and I’m the sew-a-holic behind Sew Much to Sew!
I discovered the love of sewing by being a royal pest to my seamstress neighbor as a child.
I learned how to use a sewing machine in Home Economics class in the 80’s but didn’t progress any further than making the worst fitting pair of shorts ever!
Then in 2013, I decided to dig out my old Kenmore sewing machine to teach myself how to quilt. This rekindled my love of sewing, but I discovered a problem. I’d never actually sewn a garment that fit, and I didn’t know anyone that sewed at the time.
After many years of trials and errors and many, many yards of wasted and ruined fabric, I finally taught myself how to sew clothes that fit me.
As a plus-sized and curvy woman, there are very few sewing patterns that are designed to fit me without alterations.
